From 00:01 Leo to 13:20 Leo lies Magha Nakshatra which is the royal star among the zodiac. This Nakshatra is considered as very auspicious and represents everything is royal. Magha is by Ketu. According to Varahamihira, those born with Moon in Magha have “lots of wealth, many servants, live a life of luxury and enjoyment, are persevering and devoted to gods and ancestors”. Since this is a royal Nakshatra, these people demand respect. Its symbol is the royal throne itself.

Magha consists of seven stars in the constellation of Leo, the lion, led by Alpha-Leoni (also known as Regulus). In India we call it Magha, Persians call it Magh ie, the great, Tunarian races call the Masu ie the hero and in Akkadia 5th antediluvian King-of-the-celestial-sphere, Amil-gal-ur, (Greek) Amegalaroe brightest star within Magha, Regulus, the heart of the lion, is said to be 100.

The first padha falls on the Aries Navamsa which is ruled by Mars. Those born in the first padha are known for their courage and will power. The second padha falls on the Taurus Navamsa which is ruled by Venus.and these people are very ambitious. The third padha falls on the Gemini Navamsa which is ruled by Mercury and they are known for their intellect. The fourth padha falls on the Cancer Navamsa which is ruled by the Moon and these people are very homely.

Magha born people are born leaders. Since the ruling deity is the Pitris (godfather) these people seem to be very much attached to the tradition and teaching of their forefathers. According to Indian mythology, our forefathers lived in a different world after death and we carry the genes of our forefathers. Sun rules the constellation of Leo and Magha is more luminous than other Nakshatra and Sun generally signify fathers in astrology. This Nakshatra is generally considered as female Nakshatra also.

It says during the war of Mahabharat Mars was retrograde in the Nakshatra of Magha and the Jupiter is retrograde in Shravana. Varahamihira quotes Vraddha Ganga “According to Vrddha Ganga, the Sages (Saptarsis) resided in the Magha Nakshatra, when king Yudisthira ruled the earth, and the year of the reign can be obtained by adding 2526 years to the number of saka years elapsed”.
