Saturn, lord of the 5th and the 6th is in the 11th, in the 6th from the 6th and aspecting his own house, the 5th. Hence, Dr. Radhakrishnan’s life was one of gradual and steady rise to the topmost position and to international reputation, till his retirement and indifferent health in old age. Mark Mercury, lord of the Ascendant and the 10th in the Ascendant in own house (with the lord of the 2nd and the 9th Venus in Neechabhanga or cancellation of debilitation), and much stronger than the lord of the 8th, well-relegated to the 3rd and the lord of the 6th well placed in the 11th; for, the 3rd and the 11th are houses good for any planets, benefic or malefic by nature, particularly natural malefics to occupy and for any lord of any house to be placed in.
In my previous article, I have cited two Pisces Ascendant charts, with Venus lord of the 3rd and the 8th in the 3rd in one and in the 8th in the other, showing that there is no evil of the 8th lord for these natives. But these two charts show some evil due to the Sun, lord of the 6th, in the 2nd in exaltation in one, or in the 7th in Virgo in the other. But, both the baneful lord of the 6th and of the 8th so placed as not to cause any sting or evil, as in the above Virgo Ascendant horoscope, present, rather, a rare phenomenon.
For Aries Ascendant, Mercury lord of the 3rd and the 6th may be in debility in the 12th or may be passable in the 3rd in own house. For Libra Ascendant, Jupiter lord of the 3rd and the 6th may be in the 8th or the 12th or at least in debility (in the 4th) or may be in the 3rd in own house (passable). For Cancer Ascendant, Mercury lord of the 3rd and the 12th is good in the 3rd in own house. And, for Capricorn Ascendant, Jupiter, lord of the 3rd and the 12th, may be in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th or in the 3rd in own house. Then, he will not cause the evil of the lordship of the 3rd and the 12th. But, Mercury lord of the 3rd and the 6th is not at all good in the 4th or the 5th or the 7th or the 9th or the 10th. And Jupiter lord of the 3rd and the 6th is not good in the 9th or the 10th unless he is with the Moon.
For Pisces Ascendant, I would prefer Venus in the 3rd or the 8th in own house to Venus in exaltation in Ascendant who may prolong life but with the sting of the 8th house. In a female chart, Venus, lord of the 8th in the Ascendant in exaltation, may be an asset, and a blessing for Mangalyam and longevity of the husband.
And, though lord of the 8th Venus in Malavya Yoga will certainly not be one-fifth as bad and baneful as Mars lord of the 3rd and the 8th for Virgo Ascendant, if Mars is in the 2nd or Ascendant or the 4th or the 5th or the 7th or the 9th or the 10th. According to a Tamil proverb Kettavan Kettidil, Kittidum Rajayogam, i.e., if a bad lord is weak, it is good Yoga, is aptly applicable to the lord of the 3rd and the 6th or of the 3rd and the 12th or of the 3rd and the 8th weak in hidden houses – the 3rd, the 6th, or the 8th or the 12th. But the 3rd house denotes virility and vitality and longevity (the 8th from the 8th). So lord of the 3rd and the 8th in the 3rd or the 8th in own house is good for longevity and freedom from dishonour and disgrace.
The evil of the lord of the 8th is said to be removed by Jupiter’s aspect, according to Tamil classics. But, Jupiter who aspects must be strong in a Kendra or Trikona or in own house or in exaltation, and not in combustion or debility or eclipsed by Rahu or Ketu to be powerful and puissant in his benign and benevolent aspect working a miracle and saving the native from the dreadful evil of planets in the 8th or of planets owning the 8th.
