From 20.00° Gemini to 3°20′ Cancer lies the nakshatra Punarvasu, the symbol of this nakshatra is bow and quiver. The presiding deity is Aditi, mother of the gods, and this nakshatra is ruled by Jupiter. The 12 Adityas were born of Kasyapa in the womb of Aditi. The 12 Vasus are Indra, Vishnu, Vaga, Twista, Barun, Aryama, Pusa, Mitra, Agni, Parjyanya, Vivaswan, and Dinakar. The word Punarvasu is derived from Puna+Vasu, which means return, renewal, restoration, or repetition.
The Gods, the children of Aditi, are basically and essentially are different from children of Diti, who are demons. The demons never had a taste of divine nectar and therefore miss the knowledge of fundamentals, fundamentals of creation and mystery. They were engrossed with or deeply emerged in the enjoyment of the externals, the materialistic aspect of the universe. Gold and sex were the two immediate pursuits, which made them extroverts. The astronomical name of this nakshatra is Castor and Pollux which are the two brightest stars in the constellation Gemini. With visual magnitudes of 1.58 and 1.22 respectively, Castor & Pollux are easily visible in the night sky.
As it is represented by a bow and quiver, this nakshatra is all about getting things back to it. This nakshatra is all about energizing and nurturing others. A Good example of a person born to this nakshatra would be Lord Ram who went into exile and went through all the hardships and got back into his kingdom. His purpose was to kill Ravan who was evil. Destroying the bad things and nurturing the surroundings will be the main agenda of people belong to this nakshatra.
